Frequently Asked Questions

How long is the training for Instrument rating?

- Training time varies depending on the student’s training frequency. We recommend at least 3 times a week or more to those looking to accomplish the training faster. Our schedule is yours, so if you want to finish earlier or take your time, it is up to you.

Am I going to be in a big classroom?

- All our training is one-on-one with a certified instructor. This allows you to go at your own pace and you are never shy to ask a question in front of a big class.

What certifications does Aviator Zone Academy hold?

- Aviator Zone Academy is a Part 61 and an FAA Part 141 Pilot School.

Do I get a certificate after completing 15 hrs of training?

- When it comes to flying you have to reach proficiency set by the Federal Aviation Administration. If you meet the standards then you can proceed to taking the exam and obtain the certificate. Some students require more training than others and will not finish with the minimum.

Do you offer financing?

- Our school accepts financing, but we don’t offer it ourselves. Flight Training Financing is expensive (higher interest) because the loans have no security (if you stop payments there is nothing for the bank to repose and resale). To find out more on our financing recommendation click here.

Do I have to pay everything upfront?

- We don’t require that you pay anything in advance, except you must maintain a minimum balance of $500 on your account. If you do decide to pay in advance you receive a discount in aircraft and instructor rates.

Do you have an enrollment fee?

- Yes, our enrollment fee is $79. This covers creating your student profile, processing your student pilot certificate, and helping you with the medical application.

Do I have to do the TSA Alien Flight Student Program application?

- This is only a requirement if you are a foreign student or a permanent resident. US Citizens are exempt from the TSA Alien Flight Student Program.

Is TSA required for time building?

- Nope, TSA is only required for flight training.
