CFI Training

Course Info

Train Here. Teach Here. Fly Anywhere

Many of our CFI graduates stay on as instructors at Aviator Zone, logging the flight hours needed to move on to commercial airlines, all without leaving the school they know.

3 Certifications, One School

CFI, CFII, and MEI, all available under one roof. No switching schools, no losing momentum. Complete your full instructor stack and get in the air faster.

Fast Track to Your Certificate

CFI and CFII in just 1 month. MEI in 2 weeks. Because every day without your certificate is a day without flight hours and a day further from the airlines.

Flexible Schedule & Payment

Morning, afternoon, or weekend slots available. We work around your life, not the other way around. Financing options available, ask us about payment plans.

Now FAA Part 141 Approved

Aviator Zone Academy is now officially approved to offer the Flight Instructor Course under FAA Part 141. You'll train on a structured, FAA-approved syllabus, a clear, proven path to your CFI certificate.

Instructors Walking Runway

Every great pilot started by learning from one.

Kevin Naranjo CFI Checkride

Your CFI certificate is the most efficient way to build flight hours while getting paid to fly. Every lesson you teach sharpens your own skills, and every hour in the cockpit brings you closer to the airline minimums you need. It's not just a job, it's the smartest next step in your aviation career.

At Aviator Zone, you train one-on-one with experienced instructors who have walked the same path you're on, flying a Cessna 172 and a Diamond DA40.

What your CFI certificate unlocks:

  • The legal ability to be compensated for flight instruction.
  • The most common and efficient path to reaching airline hiring minimums.
  • Real dual-aircraft experience in the Cessna 172 and Diamond DA40.
  • On-site checkride, a benefit exclusive to FAA-designated schools like ours.

What to expect:

  • Duration: approximately 1 month.
  • Aircraft: Cessna 172 (G1000 glass cockpit upgrade available) and Diamond DA40.
  • Programs start at $4,155. For a personalized program and tuition details, click below.
  • Pay in full and save $5/hr on aircraft and instructor.

Training Timeline

You'll sharpen your knowledge of aerodynamics, regulations, and teaching techniques, not just to know the material, but to explain it clearly to a student sitting next to you.

One-on-one flight lessons focused on advanced maneuvers and instructional techniques. You'll learn to fly from the right seat, manage student errors, and build the instincts of a professional instructor.

Your FAA checkride is your chance to prove you're ready, and at Aviator Zone, it happens on-site. No scheduling delays, no driving across town. You test where you trained.

As soon as you hold your certificate, you can start building hours and getting paid to fly. Every student you teach puts you one step closer to your airline career.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How long does the CFI training take?

Most students complete the CFI course in approximately one month, depending on availability and training frequency. We recommend flying at least three times a week to stay consistent and progress efficiently. We adapt to your schedule — whether you want to move fast or take it steady.

2. Will I be training in a group?

Not at all. Your entire CFI training is one-on-one with an experienced instructor. This means every lesson is focused entirely on you, your learning style, and your progress.

3. What certificate will I receive at the end of the course?

Once you meet all FAA requirements and pass your checkride, you'll earn your Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) certificate. We train under both FAA Part 61 and Part 141, ensuring structured, high-quality instruction from day one.

4. Can I start working as a flight instructor right after I get certified?

Yes. The moment you hold your CFI certificate, you're eligible to begin teaching student pilots and logging the flight hours you need for your professional career.

5. Are there financing options for CFI training?

We work with trusted partners that specialize in flight training loans, designed to help you focus on flying rather than finances. Learn more on our Financing page.

6. Do I have to pay the full amount upfront?

No. You only need to keep a minimum balance of $500 on your student account. If you choose to pay more in advance, you'll receive a $5/hr discount on both aircraft and instructor rates.

7. Is there an enrollment fee?

Yes, there's a one-time enrollment fee of $120. This covers your student profile setup, FAA paperwork assistance, and support through your medical and certification process.

8. Do I need TSA clearance?

Only if you're a non-U.S. citizen or permanent resident. U.S. citizens are not required to go through the TSA Flight Training Security Program.

9. What aircraft will I fly during CFI training?

You'll train in the Cessna 172 — including our 2025 model with the Garmin G1000 glass cockpit, and the Diamond DA40. This combination gives you instructional experience across two different aircraft designs, making you a more versatile and well-prepared flight instructor.

10. Can I go straight from my Commercial certificate to CFI?

Yes. If you already hold a valid Commercial Pilot Certificate, you can enroll directly in the CFI course and start right away.
