We believe that progress in aviation education is driven by collaboration, innovation, and a shared commitment to excellence. That’s why we were honored to participate in this year’s Stratus Financial AeroSummit, a premier event that brought together aviation professionals, educators, and industry leaders from across the country.

Held over several days, the AeroSummit served as a dynamic platform for exchanging ideas, exploring new technologies, and addressing the challenges and opportunities facing flight training institutions today. From keynote presentations to breakout sessions and networking events, the summit was packed with valuable insights and meaningful conversations.

Felipe Santiago on the Future of Fleet Management

One of the standout moments for our team was seeing Felipe Santiago, featured as a panelist during a highly anticipated discussion on fleet ownership vs. leasing. Felipe brought a wealth of experience and a thoughtful perspective to the conversation, highlighting the long-term benefits of owning a flight school’s fleet—including greater control over maintenance standards, cost predictability, and the ability to tailor aircraft to specific training needs.

His insights resonated with many attendees, sparking follow-up discussions about how flight schools can make strategic decisions that align with their mission and growth goals. It was a proud moment for our academy and a testament to the expertise and leadership we strive to bring to the industry.

A Community Committed to Student Success

Beyond the panels and presentations, what truly stood out at the AeroSummit was the spirit of community. In an industry as complex and fast-evolving as aviation, it’s easy to become siloed. Events like this remind us that we’re all working toward a common goal: preparing the next generation of pilots to fly safely, confidently, and professionally.

As educators, we have a responsibility not only to teach technical skills but also to foster resilience, critical thinking, and a deep respect for the craft of aviation. The AeroSummit gave us the opportunity to connect with peers who share that vision and to learn from each other’s successes and challenges.

Meeting Legends: John and Martha King

A truly unforgettable highlight of the summit was the opportunity to meet John and Martha King, two of the most iconic figures in aviation education. Their legacy spans decades, and their contributions have shaped the way countless pilots learn and grow.

Hearing them share their story—how they built their business, overcame obstacles, and remained passionate about teaching—was both humbling and inspiring. Their message was clear: success in aviation education comes from a deep love for flying and an unwavering commitment to helping others achieve their dreams. We look forwards to reading their new book released
"LIFT: How to Start, Run and Grow Your Own Successful Business."

Looking Ahead with Renewed Purpose

We left the AeroSummit energized, inspired, and full of new ideas to bring back to our students and staff. From exploring new financing models to enhancing our curriculum and expanding our fleet, the conversations we had at the summit will directly influence how we continue to grow and improve.

We extend our sincere thanks to Stratus Financial for organizing such a meaningful and impactful event. Their dedication to supporting flight schools and aviation professionals is helping to shape a stronger, more connected industry.

As we return to our day-to-day operations, we do so with a renewed sense of purpose. The future of aviation depends on the quality of today’s training—and at Aviator Zone Academy, we’re proud to be part of that mission.

Together, we’re shaping the future of flight—one student at a time.
