Aviation is built on a foundation of shared knowledge — from the seasoned captain passing wisdom to a first officer, to the master mechanic guiding an apprentice through their first engine inspection. It's a culture of mentorship, and we were proud to be part of that tradition during our recent visit to George T. Baker Aviation School.

Connecting with the Next Generation

When we arrived on campus, it was immediately clear why Baker Aviation has such a strong reputation. Students deeply engaged in their coursework, passionate about the field, and hungry to learn everything they could about what lies ahead in their careers.

Our team had the privilege of speaking with students who are actively pursuing their flight training, sharing information on what the journey looks like, what to expect in the industry, and how to make the most of the opportunities ahead of them. Whether it was discussing training pathways, aircraft, certifications, or day-to-day life in aviation, the conversations were genuine, thoughtful, and inspiring.

A Special Conversation with A&P Students

One of the highlights of our visit was sitting down directly with Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) students who are on the verge of entering the industry. These are the men and women who will keep aircraft airworthy, ensure passenger safety, and maintain the technical backbone of aviation.

We spoke candidly about what to expect when transitioning from the classroom to the hangar floor, the value of their certification in today's job market, and the exciting demand for skilled aviation maintenance professionals. The questions they asked were sharp, thoughtful, and showed exactly how prepared they are for what's ahead. The future looks very bright for vocational students. Boeing Aircraft projects that in North America more than 123,000 technicians will be needed. This number jumps to 710,000 personnel word wide thru 2044.

Grateful for Events Like This

None of this would be possible without institutions like George T. Baker Aviation School opening their doors and creating the space for these conversations to happen. Events like this one are invaluable, they bridge the gap between education and industry, giving students real-world perspective while giving professionals like us the chance to give back to a community that has given us so much.

We are truly grateful to the faculty, staff, and administration at Baker Aviation for hosting such a welcoming and well organized event. Your commitment to your students is evident in every corner of that campus, and the work you do to connect them with industry professionals makes a real difference.

To the students we met, you are the future of this industry, and the future looks bright. We look forward to seeing you in the skies and in the hangars soon.

And to George T. Baker Aviation School, thank you. We'll see you again.
