FAA Part 141 Approved Courses

Part 141 means our curriculum meets the FAA's strictest standards for structure and efficiency. You train smarter, log fewer required hours, and finish faster than a traditional Part 61 program.

Self Examining Authority

We're one of the few schools in South Florida authorized to administer checkrides on-site. No waiting for an examiner's availability. No driving to another facility. You test where you trained.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long is the training to become instrument rated?

Training is typically completed within 2 to 3 months. The pace depends on how frequently you fly, we recommend at least 3 sessions per week for the most consistent progress. Click below and a member of our team will help you build a schedule that works for you.

Am I going to be in a big classroom?

Not at all. Every ground lesson at Aviator Zone is conducted one-on-one with a certified instructor. No large groups, no waiting for others, just focused, personalized instruction at your pace.

What certifications does Aviator Zone Academy hold?

Aviator Zone Academy is an FAA-approved Part 141 Pilot School and also offers Part 61 training. As an FAA Part 141 school, we are also authorized to hold our own checkrides on-site through our FAA Examining Authority, meaning you test where you trained, with no scheduling delays and no extra examiner fees.

Do I get a certificate after completing the course?

Yes. Once you meet the FAA proficiency standards, you will complete an End of Course exam with our Chief Flight Instructor. Because we hold FAA Examining Authority, you receive your Instrument Rating certificate right here on-site, no waiting for a Designated Pilot Examiner, no extra fees, no traveling to another facility.

What is the difference between Part 141 and Part 61?

Part 141 is a professional, FAA-approved program built for students who want structure, accountability, and the most efficient route to certification. Its standardized curriculum allows students to qualify for a Private Pilot Certificate with as few as 35 flight hours and opens the door to benefits such as VA funding and M1 Visas for international students.

Part 61 does not follow a standardized FAA-approved curriculum and is typically used by students transferring from another school or pursuing certificate conversions. We offer both programs, ensuring consistent safety and training standards across the board
