On March 4, 2026, during the Flight Training Experience Awards ceremony held at Redbird Migration in Lakeland, Florida, Aviator Zone Academy was recognized by the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) as a Distinguished Flight School 2026.
This national distinction is awarded to institutions that demonstrate excellence in instructional quality, student focus, community engagement, and transparency. Because it is based on verified student feedback from across the country, it represents an authentic reflection of the training experience delivered within our academy.
During the same ceremony, instructor Jorge Gonzalez was honored as a Distinguished Instructor 2026. This recognition carries special meaning, as Jorge completed his entire training as a student at Aviator Zone Academy. From his first flight lesson to his role today as an instructor, his journey reflects the continuity and professional standards we strive to uphold every day.
Migration, organized by Redbird Flight Simulations, brings together leaders in aviation education from across the United States to recognize those contributing to the advancement of flight training nationwide. This year the conference was held at the at the Aerospace Center for Excellence, a known site for those who been to Sun-n-Fun.
The evening concluded with a cocktail reception that provided the opportunity to connect with members of the aviation community from around the country. It was a space for conversation, shared experiences, and genuine camaraderie, a reminder of the strong sense of unity within our industry.
